The community is built around the 32-acre artificial lake which includes 2 waterfalls and a 21-acre park.  Chaparral Lake features a recreation centre with facilities for fishing, boating, skating and diving. There is an annual fee paid by all residents to cover these facilities.  The community is mostly single family homes, with some condos and luxury lake side homes.
